This story is about a gunslinger, Dark Hunter named Sundown or Jess who has just moved to Las Vegas where a few Dark Hunters have mysteriously died. Abigail knew Jess when she was a child but then her parents were killed and she blames Jess. I really enjoyed the story even though there was so much going on. I guess you could call this a Dark Hunter story but it really takes a left turn. SK explains it in her Author's Note but I think she should've done what she did with Dream Hunters and calledthe heroine, Abigail, srsly got on more nerves in the beginning, but as Kenyon usually does for me, I ended up surprisingly endeared to her. This was not one of my favorite dark hunters but I did like where it eventually went. (I loved the native american twist and am interested in seeing more of it- which I believe we will with the next release.)Abigail's parents were killed when she was a child and she knows the killer- Sundown Brady. Give me some slack in reviewing this book. It's my third read in less than 24 hours and the two previous were really good so I'm feeling a little cynical.I was really excited to finally see Jess's book. He's mentioned in multiple previous books and I love how Kenyon writes stand-alone stories but uses the characters to preserve continuity in the series. 1. I think it's inappropriate for Tory to wish the pain of castration on Ash, a man who was once castrated.
