Representaion Supposing Books Bat Blood: The Devil's Claw

After a research facility is destroyed, the surrounding forest becomes a horrific war zone between intelligent winged mutants and mercenaries hired by the man that created them. When a mutant infects a local, Sarah's cancer is cured and both sides discover that she holds the key to their future.

Richard Myerscough's Bat Blood contains common themes found in techno-thrillers like Michael Critchton's Prey, medical thriller's such as Robin Cook's Coma, and horror/sci/fi in the same vein as John Saul's The God Project.
Bat Blood is a fun novel that contains cinematic battle scenes that might have come out of a Michael Bay action movie.
What makes the novel even more frightening, beyond just the fear of the unknown, is that it feels as though the content could be ripped out of the latest newspaper headlines.

Sarah's cure was her curse, and her destiny

After Sarah Douglas is attacked and infected with the blood of a gargoyle-like creature, the cancer that riddled her body vanishes. The attack draws the attention of Doctor Scott, the scientist who inadvertently was responsible for infecting a colony of bats, and changing them into intelligent creatures that could threaten mankind.

As the infected blood slowly transforms Sarah's body, she is caught in the middle of an horrific war between an army of mercenaries and a colony of mutate winged creatures. Watching the creatures gorge themselves on human flesh, she sees her future and fights to maintain her humanity.

With Sarah's blood holding the key to his research the doctor uses his vast resources to try to capture her, along with keeping the outside world at bay. This gets harder to do as the colony expands its territory further away from the Devil's Claw, and members of the local population begin to disappear.

Judge Based On Books Bat Blood: The Devil's Claw
It is not like any other vampire or creature books that I've ever read before. The author's unique way of giving the reader an insight into the creatures' lives, makes you almost want to pity the grotesque creatures that feel humans are nothing more than meat.As the main character Sarah slowly changes and is hunted down by the men hired by the medical researchers, her family is caught in the middle and must come to terms with what she is turning into. This meant a lot of bouncing around in the

Although I greatly enjoyed the first edition of Bat Blood: The Devil's Claw and thought it was terrific, when I read the re-edited edition, I found it even more enjoyable.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise and such were tailor made for me to really enjoy this book, and yet it fell completely flat. Richard's writing comes off wooden and I truly believe besides maybe 2 or 3 characters in the book, everyone else has no real personality or anything. you could just take one character and replace them with another and you would have no idea that, that had even happened. the ending is a total blood bath of carnage and action but by that point nobody mattered

Love gargoyles and a book that turns a human into a bat like creature? Who could stay away from that?! Not me, so I buy this book and start to devour the first few chapters. Then it slowed, the characters started to get boring and I read on only because I hoped that it would get better, give me something!!!...thrill me!!!...give me my action packed gargoyle!!!...but it didn't. I couldn't get into this book..it was just ok for me, so ho hum.

Bat Blood: The Devil's Claw was my first published novel and takes place in the wilderness of Northern Ontario, Canada. In the wild, it is survival of the fittest. That is what the Bat Blood series is all about. Someday humans may not be the top of the food chain. What will we do when our guns can no longer protect us?With all the advances in stem cell and DNA research that is going on around the world, companies are rushing to be the first to cure cancer. But what if some of this research

I was hooked onto the story after just reading the prologue. The concepts brought up in the book are not what I usually look for in my reading material. The description of the characters and of the environments in the work is what sealed it for me, the violence helped keep me glued to the pages. I enjoyed the story and became emotionally attached to a few of the characters by the ending. Definitely something I'd suggest to friends.
