Chronicle Concering Books Some Girls Are

Climbing to the top of the social ladder is hard—falling from it is even harder.  Regina Afton used to be a member of the Fearsome Fivesome, an all-girl clique both feared and revered by the students at Hallowell High... until vicious rumors about her—and her best friend's boyfriend—start going around.  Now Regina's been frozen out, and her ex-best friends are out for revenge.  If Regina were guilty, it would be one thing, but the rumors are far from the terrifying truth, and the bullying is getting more intense by the day.  She takes solace in the company of Michael Hayden, a misfit with a tragic past whom she herself used to bully.  Friendship doesn't come easily for these onetime enemies, and as Regina works hard to make amends for her past, she realizes Michael could be more than just a friend...if threats from the Fearsome Foursome don't break them both first.

Tensions grow and the abuse worsens, as the final days of senior year march toward an explosive conclusion in this dark new tale from the author of Cracked Up To Be.

Appraise Containing Books Some Girls Are
Wow. Well, I cant say that this was enjoyable. It made me feel uncomfortable, disgusted, and horrified. The ending, while maybe a bit hopeful, was pretty bleak. But still I say, Wow. This is an extremely unflinching, harsh look at the twisted dynamics of teenage girl friendship, and a much more comprehensive picture of the mean-girl psyche than other one-note portrayals Ive seen.Regina Afton is the beta to Anna Morrisons alpha in Hallowell High. Shes been the messenger, the lookout, the

Courtney Summers sure doesnt waste her time. When she writes stories, she means business and shes all about the serious dirty business, Im telling you. Some Girls Are for me is her darkest, grittiest novel yet, even scarier than her zombie duology. Some Girls Are is a story of girl who was once a part of the Fearsome Fivesome composed of girls who are so mean and so effed up, they scared the crap out of me. I couldnt imagine what it would be like in the shoes of Regina who gets kicked out of

gosh dammit this book is mean. i feel like the ending was REALLY rushed but hey i can't give it less than 5 stars anyways~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~book #3 in the buddy and reread CS binge with poop ❤❤im literally incapable to read anything beyond her books atm

Some girls are...(view spoiler)[total bitches (hide spoiler)]. That's the takeaway from this book. High school is a nightmare for a large number of people and there will always be that crowd of people that finds pleasure in ruining the reputations of others. This book is like watching a trainwreck--it is completely awful, but you just have to keep reading to see how it all turns out. Regina Afton was second in command to Anna, her best friend and head of the mean girls clique at Hallowell High

Someone please order my heart to be quiet. It wont listen to me. I feel so tired. Its like reading this book took all my strength and left me with a melancholic sentiment.I shake it off. There you go. I feel better already.Liar. How can someone just go on with their lives after theyve read Some Girls Are and not give it a second thought? Its so impossible I cant even imagine an alternative universe where such thing is fathomable.Regina used to be a terror. But then she went to a party and Annas

Actual Rating: 4.5/5 starsTHIS WAS SO SO GOOD. What a brilliant, emotional and evil novel!I just.. The ending felt really rushed to me. I was like, THAT WAS IT?? I had the same sentiments with ALL THE RAGE and I wonder if Courtney Summers really write these open-minded conclusions? Can't wait to read more from her, though! Thanks for the rec, Chelsea!Full review to be posted on the blog.

Re-read: 1/18/12Somehow, it's even better the second time around. If you follow my reviews, you know how much I hate clique books and mean girls. I expected to really dislike this book. I thought it would just be another Gossip Girls wannabe. For once, I was wrong. First impressions can be deceiving. Some Girls Are is a lot like Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen. But unlike Sarah Dessen, Courtney Summers knows how to handle gritty topics. The protagonist of Some Girls Are is Regina Afton, a
