Description Supposing Books My Best Friend's Girl

How far would you go for the best friend who broke your heart? This internationally bestselling novel tells an enchanting tale of life’s most unpredictable loves and heartaches, and the unforgettable bond between a single woman and an extraordinary five-year-old girl. From the moment they met in college, best friends Adele Brannon and Kamryn Matika thought nothing could come between them—until Adele did the unthinkable and slept with Kamryn’s fiancĂ©, Nate. Now, after years of silence, the two women are reuniting, and Adele has a stunning request for her old friend: she wants Kamryn to adopt her five-year-old daughter, Tegan.

Besides the difference in skin color—many will assume that headstrong, impulsive Kamryn is Tegan’s nanny—there’s the inconvenient truth that Kamryn is wholly unprepared to take care of anyone, especially someone who reminds her so much of Nate. With crises brewing at work and her love life in shambles, can Kamryn somehow become the mother a little girl needs her to be?

In My Best Friend’s Girl, Dorothy Koomson takes us on a warm and wondrous journey through laughter and tears, forgiveness and hope—and the enduring love forged by the unlikeliest of families.

Column Based On Books My Best Friend's Girl
"My Best Friend's Girl" was a LOT better than I'd expected it to be. I don't know why I wasn't expecting too much of it - I mean, after all I bought it, surely I must have felt it was worth reading? I think my problem is that I'd gotten to the point where I felt good chick-lit is hard to find, and that this one would be as shallow as the rest. Fortunately I was mistaken. I laughed and cried in turn practically from page one. It's an extremely moving story and one that has you guessing right to

Great read ! Far exceeded my expectations ... Equally serious yet light enough to not drag you down . All of the characters were well developed and at times I didn't know who I was rooting for ... I just wanted good outcomes for them all.

Crying was an acceptable outlet, even if it made you feel raw and empty inside, it was still better than that buildup of resentment that grew from not letting your emotions out.Heartwarming story, interesting characters, and an amazing end!

I really enjoyed this book, which I would categorize as "meaty" chick lit. The main character is flawed but entirely sympathetic and finds her heart torn between two men, both of whom are good guys but also flawed. All of this occurs in the aftermath of her being asked to adopt her dying friend's daughter, even though the two friends had not spoken for years after a falling out. The plot and characters were compelling and I was driven to finish the whole novel within 24 hours. I enjoyed the

I hate this author..seriously, I hate this girl..because as soon as I get her book in my hands, she makes me desperately wish for a weekend...and then on Friday night, this girl keeps me awake till 4 as I try to finish this book...reach the last page...all the while wishing that the book was a little longer...that the ending wasn't so near...after all, an amazing story is going on...I want to keep reading it..By far, this has topped among the other three I've read by the madam...and though I am

A book that was recommended by Richard & Judly's Summer read .. and I wasn't disappointed! Very emotional story of two human beings Kamryn & Tegan, and their journey together toward forgiveness, love, and understanding!Beautifully written. Cried in some parts, and laughed out loud in other parts. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the first half of the book and I rate it 4.5 stars. It was sensitive, mature and sad.The second half (which could have been 100 pages shorter) was considerably less enjoyable and poorly written. I'll give it 2.5 stars. It was immature and silly and unfortunately changed the focus (view spoiler)[ to the love triangle side of the story. Instead of focusing on the evolution of the relationship between Tegan and Kam, it became all about her choosing between two awful men: one who cheated
