I was lucky enough to be asked to proof this story before its release later this month. If you love stories about other dimensions and parallel universes, then this is definitely for you! So much detail and background, a well thought out story. Owen is a great main character on a perilous adventure with friends and other creatures that just doesn't let up until the last page. I can't wait for the next adventure and really must get the first book in this series and read them in order. I like the story line author Huff has going in these books. he did do in this book what I thought should have been done in the first. Which is give us a look at Them. Not everything, but a glimpse into motivations other than the basic good/evil thing.That said, the story got weighed down with over-complicated explanations of the layers of his multiverse. One Character, Cleophus, in an advanced stage of dementia is explaining it to the Nine. One character makes an apt observation with the line
