I was completely sucked in by this book. It's well written and engaging. Unfortunately, the end (which leads into book 2) wasn't my cup of tea. Others may enjoy it though depending on their tastes.

Awaken is one of those books that quietly sneaks up on you and you have no idea what has happened. This book was definitely unique. the plot is something i haven't ever heard before. If you think this is going to be centered on angels and heaven you are mistaken. this book is about the patronus, the guides for souls. they make sure everything runs smoothly so that the souls can get to heaven without interference from werewolves, vampires or fae. the main bad guys in this story are the vampires, they collect souls to stay alive.
