Interpretation During Books Bad Blood (Alexandra Cooper #9)
"Bad Blood" finds Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper deeply involved in a complicated, high-profile homicide case. Defendant Brendan Quillian, a prominent young businessman, is charged with the brutal strangulation of his beautiful young wife, Amanda. His conviction is not a certainty: Quillian was conveniently out of town on the day of the killing, and he has hired a formidable defense attorney who seems one step ahead of Cooper as the trial opens. But with the help of detectives Mike Chapman and Mercer Wallace, she is confident she can prove Quillian paid a hit man to commit the crime.Halfway through the trial, a major catastrophe alters the course of Alex's case. A cataclysmic ex-plosion rips through New York City's Water Tunnel #3, a spectacular feat of modern engineering that will be completed years in the future. Carved through bedrock six hundred feet underground, the tunnel will replace a vital artery in the city's rapidly deteriorating water supply system. Was the blast caused by terrorism? Political retribution? Or was it merely an accident? Cooper is quickly drawn into the trag-edy when she discovers a strange connection linking Brendan Quillian to the tunnel workers killed in the explosion. At the same time, Alex meets a mysterious, handsome stranger. Should she get to know him better? Before the answer is clear, she is pulled back into the case, which is becoming more dangerous by the hour. She and Chapman descend deep into the earth to penetrate the subterranean universe of the sandhogs, as the brotherhood of tunnel workers are colorfully known. Their probe soon leads to another murder victim, whose blood may hold the key to Cooper's mesmerizingly complex case. One closelyheld secret reveals another, and soon Alex discovers that only by unraveling ancient rivalries among sandhog families will she be able to solve the murder of Amanda Quillian -- and save her own life as well.
A riveting tale of up-to-the-minute urban intrigue, "Bad Blood" is rich with New York City lore and fascinating legal insights that only Fairstein, Manhattan's former sex crimes prosecutor, can deliver. Told in her signature authentic style, "Bad Blood" is packed with the same twists and turns that made her last novel, "Death Dance," a runaway bestseller and that never fail to thrill her legions of devoted readers.

An Alex Cooper mystery. A young businessman is accused of strangling his wife. During the trial a major explosion rips through a New York Water Tunnel killing 3 people, one of which is the brother of the young businessman. It is discovered he has more siblings that nobody knew about. Is the tunnel incident terrorism or has it a political connection? Recommend. This one kept me guessing all the way through. I really like her books and knowledge of her subject; good characterization in her books. The reason for the four rather than a five us the editing. It seems to improve with each book. It is disrupting to have unreasonable breaks mid-paragraph. 'nuff said.
Another page turnerI really enjoy the bickering and the love the three main characters have for each other...just like any friends that have become family. The author gives you great descriptive insight into places that make you want to visit or stay away from if you ever get to visit NYC. I am happily moving on to book 10 of the series. Thank you Linda for giving me something fun to read when I wake up at 3am!!!
Much better than the last couple of books fo the series. This time, all secondary lines are also related to the main plot. Great narrative, great job in mainteining the interest. And a great twist on the ending, making it more realistic that the last books. I did enjoyed it a lot, one of the best books in the saga so far.
I thought it was a good mystery, and I actually found the story of the water system and the sandhogs to be very interesting. I had no idea what it took to supply water to such a hugemetropolis. I can't imagine working 600 feet underground in such a treacherous environment.
Good mystery and interesting story outlining the city beneath NYC which include subway tubes, gas mains, shafts of every variety, and the two antiquated tunnels that carry the water from upstate NY to the boroughs of the city.
This author used to be a prosecutor in NY. She was a part of pushing for charges against The Central Park Five. She still insists they are guilty after the city had to pay them $41 million dollars for malicious and wrongful prosecution. This author is a nasty racist bitch and doesn't deserve to have a publishing contract.https://www.newsweek.com/who-linda-fa... https://thegrio.com/2019/06/03/centra...https://youtu.be/u3F9n_smGWY
