Weigh Up Appertaining To Books Whisper of Death

Christopher Pike remains one of the most talented YA writers. He actually manages to create stories and characters that stick with you. Yes, he has had a few clunkers(I was not a fan of The Last Vampire series) but overall his writing is strong and the characters are very likable. They also end often on a rather tragic note which is something most YA writers do not do.Whisper Of Death is a book that stayed with me from the first time I read it. This is one of the few books I do not reread often

A really quick read but an interesting one, Whisper of Death has echoes of films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Prom Night, and it has a surprisingly engaging mystery in its pages that drags the main characters back to thinking about a girl whom they never cared about enough to treat with respect. Who was she, and is it her who's responsible for their terrifying predicament?

I read this year's ago and forgot the whole story. It was a great read for this time of year and spookathon! Love the writing and the plot just keeps getting better. There were a few things that bugged me, but overall a great book.

SHIT!! This book gave me the creeps. My first experience with the Christopher Pike books was incredibly horror. Read Whisper of Death only a little while ago. The aspects that I find not-very-good are that this book is for freakin thirteen year olds when I've found this book pretty scary for adults keeping in my mind the reviews of some of the readers, AND the fact this book is based on some not-so-thirteenish elements like rape and getting banged by her own "future" father makes me feel sick.
