This is the first I've read of any Karin Slaughter books. Quite a few GR friends are reading her thrillers so when I saw this audio book at the library I grabbed it on a whim. Faithless is #5 in the series about victims getting buried alive with a religious twist. I realized as I listened to the book that a lot had happened in the previous 4 books in the series that I should have read first.I like the main characters, Sara and Jeffrey. There are so many characters, however, that it's hard toFast paced thriller set in a small county. For a 500 page mystery, this will engage you from start to finish.
A smashing continuation of the series, Faithless has many meanings for the couple and the mystery within, as Sara and Jeffrey's love story has hit another obstacle because of his affair when they were married. The two are arguing in the woods by Sara's parent's house, when Jeffrey stumbles, taking Sara down too, across a pipe sticking out of the ground. They soon realize the ugly meaning of this pipe and scrabble and tear at the earth with their hands to release the person held below. Alas, it
This has been my least favorite of the Grant County series so far. It just didn't really click with me. I think a good way to describe it for me would be drawn out and repetitive. Also, this has been the most confused I have been so far when reading a Slaughter book.Slaughter continues the trend of shocking subject matter and brutal descriptions. Her books are not for the faint of heart or queasy of stomach. Also, there are some potential triggers in this one - the biggest one being abortion. If
5 stars! I LOVE THIS SERIES! Once again Karin Slaughter starts off with a bang in Faithless and I couldnt stop until I was done. I was happy we got to see Sara and Jeffreys relationship progress in this one. Another thing that I would like to note is how close Nan and Lena have become. I think watching their relationship form and grow has been great. They both loved Sybil and to see them living together and becoming friends I think has been really great. I also would like to say how much I think
Having struggled with the previous couple of books in this series this one seemed to up the game again; although still not back to the highs of the first two books in the series I did enjoy this one.We are back in good old Grant County with Sara and Jeffery stumbling across a body whose last moments on earth were truly horrific. A difficult investigation follows with the girl belonging to a very religious family. Its an interesting case if a bit of a slow burner of a book as a whole.Sara and
Like James Lee Burke, Karin Slaughter delivers novels where the separation between good and bad involves a fine line, and its not always easy to see, even if its drawn on the pavement in red crayon. The relationship between Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver makes FAITHLESS an entertaining read, and the deft, clever plotting makes it even better. This novel proved a hard one to put down, and despite reading several other novels at the time, I just had to keep reading. Reaching the end, though,
