Criticize Out Of Books La casa de Bernarda Alba
the leftish intellectual poetical writers have endured hardship in all times in periods of regims with one track mind. the play is tourism in catholic spanish rural oppression. on stage it works even more confronting. it burns your skin. lorca is my hero.

There is so much power in this all-female play by Lorca. It seems a product of its time and yet ahead of its time at the same time. Great dialogue.

A typical story of that time, but relevant to our days. Moral of the story: dependence on the opinion of others is an eternal prison.

This is the second of Lorcas rural trilogy I have read, and if anything I liked it even more than Bodas de Sangre. In form and theme the two are quite similar. Like a Greek tragedy, the plot is simplicity itself, with one obvious conflict and one calamitous resolution. Again, Lorcas power as a dramatist comes, not from subtlety or wit, but from pure passion. The incompatibility between traditional values and human impulses, with all its tragic implications, is laid bare by Lorca, who shows us a

Outstanding use of symbolism once again by Lorca. In less than 100 pages he addresses all manner of social, political, cultural and class issues as well as issues of sex and gender. Wrote about this play in my exam and didn't even have to stop to think, there is so much to say and every line is laden with meaning.

This was amazing. This book exceeded my expectations. The topics that covers are really deep and very important, such as the repression of the woman, the revelation against the norms of the society, the freedom, the honor and the appearance.
